Sessions and Presentations at the 52nd CAA International Conference in Athens

From the 5th to th 9th May 2025 the 52nd International Conference on Computer Applications and Quantitative Methods in Archaeology will take place in Athens. Some of our project members are involved in organising sessions or giving lectures.
Together with Manuel Peters (Max Planck Institute of Geoanthropology) and Mason Scholte (University of Amsterdam) Jitte Waagen and Matthias Lang organised a session on "New Frontiers in Drone Applications". In this session Matthias Lang will give a presentation on "Multispectral remote sensing for crop-mark detection".
Jitte Waagen will talk about "Evaluating Virtual Reality as a learning environment" in the session "Teaching with Tech: Bringing Archaeological Pegagogy into the Future", organised by Robert Stephan, Caleb Simmons, Aviva Doery (all University of Arizona) and Montine Rummel (Sapienza Università di Roma).
Together with Alexis Pantos (Museum of Cultural History, Oslo) Matthias Lang, Tijm Lanouw and Jitte Waagen organised the session "Photorealist[ish] - Another look at appearance and 3D documentation in heritage". Sjoerd van Riel talk about "Documenting and presenting material properties of archaeological artefacts in 3D" together with Letizia Bonelli (Museum of Cultural History, Oslo) and Alexis Pantos. The article's author will present "New Technologies for the Documentation and Visualization of Greek Pottery" together with Matthias Lang and Philippe Pathé.
